Value, vision and mission statements

When I made the decision to start The Loss Art, I went inward – way inward – to consider my goals, beliefs and moral values. This is my first entrepreneurial venture, and encore career, after retiring from full-time work. For the first time, I researched and wrote a business plan. The value, vision and mission statements are part of that exercise. After careful consideration, I captured my values, vision and mission. I hope they’ll give you a high-level idea of who I am and my commitment to you.

Value statement: My commitment is to compassionately inspire bereaved people to embrace and design their grief experience so they can seize the life they deserve – one filled with meaning, hope, joy and love for self and others.

Vision statement: The Loss Art’s vision is to empower people struggling with death and/or non-death loss to reduce passive suffering and move towards active meaning making, hope and joy.

Mission statement: The Loss Art is committed to helping individuals and groups reduce suffering in their grief through creative expression in compassionate and educational workshops, retreats and coaching.
